Grace In Gear
I have a shirt to give now. That’s incredible when you think about it. I try to be the person I would have needed back then, and I don’t think I’d have taken that path if I hadn’t had Big Table in my life.
Tushar was first referred to Big Table in 2015 after his bicycle – his only way to get to work as a line cook – was stolen. Surprising him with a new bike brought immediate relief and marked the beginning of a relationship that has now spanned over a decade. What started as practical support became something deeper. Over time, Tushar opened up about his struggles with addiction. About a year after his referral, he made the courageous decision to walk away from drinking and drugs. It wasn’t easy, but his grit and determination never wavered—and Big Table encouraged him through it all.
Even in sobriety, reminders of his past lingered. For years, severe dental issues impacted his health and confidence. After five years of trust-building and perseverance, our team was able to connect Tushar to care partners Dr. Chad Collins and Dr. Ken Collins. They stepped in to provide the treatment he desperately needed. For the first time in years, Tushar could smile again – pain free and full of hope.
From there, Tushar chose to continue growing – and Big Table was there to help. Through the support of a counseling care partner, he began processing his emotions and becoming the person he is determined to be.
Today, Tushar is 10 years sober, pursuing a degree in radiology while still working in the industry. Because of your support, he’s not just surviving – he is thriving and has a passion to give back and help others.
