Someone Who Keeps Showing Up
God always provides. It may not be more or how I want it, but He will provide. And He used Big Table to do it.
Tyler loves being a chef, but when he came to Big Table, he was navigating one crisis after another—unstable housing, transportation problems, legal trouble, and deep personal loss. After 12 years of marriage, his wife left, and soon after, he lost his father-in-law. With so much grief and uncertainty piling up, Tyler found himself cycling through temporary housing, unsafe situations, and even sleeping in his car. Transportation struggles led to missed opportunities and job loss, adding even more instability.
Through it all, Big Table has stayed. Chris has walked alongside Tyler through late-night calls, arrests, job transitions, grief, and transportation crises—offering rides, towing assistance, practical help with food and other basic needs, and compassionate coaching and accountability.
Today, Tyler is working again, reconnecting with his sense of purpose, and beginning to see his own capacity for change. His housing and transportation remain uncertain, but he is taking small steps forward.
Sometimes, hope begins with simply knowing you don’t have to walk through the hard things alone. And Tyler knows he has his “big brother Chris” in his corner.
