Room to Breathe

It feels good to think about my future again.

When her friend reached out to Big Table, Adrianna was experiencing homelessness, severe anxiety, and deep fear after a traumatic experience while living on the street. Without a car or reliable phone service, she was sleeping on couches and staying in temporary hotel rooms while working part time at a local hotel and trying to navigate an eviction and bank garnishment.

Adrianna needed more than a place to live. She needed someone willing to walk patiently alongside her, help her navigate each next step, and remind her she wasn’t alone. Big Table connected her with housing and community partners, provided transportation, supported her through the housing application process, covered her deposit and first month’s rent, and helped with move-in essentials.

Today, Adrianna has a safe place to call home. For the first time in a long time, she has room to breathe, reset, and begin imagining what comes next. She’s earned her pharmacy technician license and is working toward goals like getting her driver’s license and creating a sustainable budget. And we’ll be there, cheering her on every step of the way.
