Celebrating At Home
Big Table has been a tremendous help getting me back on my feet, and now they are a part of my story to a better life for my daughter and me!
Karina is a single mother of a young daughter working as a hotel front desk supervisor. She recently suffered the loss of a dear loved one. Shortly after, a toxic living situation forced them to move out and find shelter in hotels or in Karina’s car. She felt so alone and needed a sliver of hope and stability. Thankfully, she was referred to Big Table by her HR manager. Big Table walked alongside Karina during this time, providing her with food stability assistance and constant encouragement as she fought to find secure housing for her family. With her strong determination, she would reassure her daughter saying, “We will have a place before your birthday!” and SHE DID, with 3 weeks to spare!
Now Karina has been blessed with a safe and bright studio apartment centrally located between her work and her daughter’s school, something she once could only dream of. But it still didn’t feel like a home. They didn’t even have a bed to sleep in. Big Table quickly provided comfy beds for both Karina and her daughter. We also filled the gap of many household essentials they needed and school supplies for her daughter’s upcoming school year. Things are coming together, and Karina can finally exhale.
