Hope Beyond Homelessness
I’m just overjoyed right now. No one, and I mean no one, has ever helped me like Big Table!
A server at a local seafood restaurant, Chris found herself facing homelessness. Unfortunately, surviving trauma was not a new part of her story as she had already overcome a long history of abuse, addiction, and loss. Referred to Big Table by a co-worker, Chris needed the essentials to get back on her feet. Leading with relational support, we provided work clothes and shoes, gas for her car and assistance with transitional housing, among others. Today, Chris just signed a lease for a safe home and has found joy in her job, cooking and encouraging others at a local retirement home restaurant. Chris is filled with hope and gratitude, with a dream of using her testimony as a peer counselor.
