HOPE THROUGH HARDSHIP

I’m really grateful for all the help I’ve received and would love to help out at a Big Table event in the future!

Indi was working hard as a valued hotel Operations Manager when she was unexpectedly let go due to circumstances out of her control. She was crushed, bewildered, and left trying to work miracles financially as a recently divorced, single mother with two teenagers still living at home. She desperately struggled to pay rent and cover basic bills. Eviction was looming.

Indi’s former supervisor referred her for care, describing her as “one of the hardest working people I know who would never ask for help personally.” We connected quickly, helped cover rent costs, and filled Indi’s fridge with healthy food for her family.

This was the boost she needed to stay afloat financially. Her care coordinator, Miranda, also reached out often with encouragement and job leads as Indi looked for a new workplace. It took several months, but her persistence paid off with a wonderful full-time restaurant bar manager position. And recently, she was ecstatic to find a full-time administrative position at a coffee warehouse with more family-friendly hours. We celebrate her resilience, incredible drive to pursue a brighter future for her family, and huge heart to pay it forward – as shown by Indi bartending at our last Industry Dinner.
